Equity Firm Buys Stylin’ Concepts

(Catalog Age) New York-based private equity firm The Riverside Co. has acquired Stylin’ Concepts, an Independence, OH-based cataloger of parts and accessories for trucks and sport compact cars. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Stylin’ Concepts produces eight catalogs, including Sport Truck Accessories and Ford Truck & SUV. It also operates two Web sites and a store. The cataloger will become part of Riverside’s automotive specialty accessories and parts division.

Other companies within the division include Chicago-based cataloger J.C. Whitney & Co., which Riverside acquired in June 2002, and Corona, CA-based manufacturer/marketer American Products Co., purchased this past August.

Riverside’s other catalog holdings include knitting and crocheting cataloger Patternworks, which it acquired in May 2002, and Riverside purchased quilting fabric cataloger Keepsake Quilting, acquired in June 2000.
