Dr Pepper/Seven Up and Ebay Launch Points-Based Promotion

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. has teamed up with online auction firm eBay to develop “Liquid Loot,” a loyalty program. The new program will debut in June 2003.

Consumers purchasing a variety of Dr Pepper/Seven Up soft drinks will receive special codes that can be redeemed for points on http://www.liquidloot.com , the promotion’s Web site. Points can be used to bid on prizes, such as branded merchandise and a variety of music and entertainment products, in an auction-style process.

Once registered on the Liquid Loot site, participants will also receive e-mail messages informing them of the availability of new merchandise, their point standings, and new Dr Pepper/Seven Up promotions. They will also be able to receive electronic coupons for new merchandise.
