DoubleClick 4th-Q Loss Narrows, But Revenues Down

DoubleClick Inc. narrowed its loss in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31. But revenues decreased at the online marketing company.

Revenues declined 27% from a year ago as the company struggled with a devastating advertising slump, falling to $96 million from $132.3 million a year ago.

The company posted a pro forma profit of $1.66 million. Last year, it was $216,000. This figure beat Wall Street’s expectations for the fourth quarter, which were on average $88 million, according to reports.

Net loss totaled $265.8 million. The year earlier, net loss was $156 million.

The TechSolutions division reported revenue of $51.8 million, an increase of 7% over the third quarter. But, TechSolutions revenue last year $61.5 million. In the data division, quarterly revenue was $19.6 million, compared with $17.8 million a year earlier.

The media division posted revenue of $27.2 million, down from $60.4 million a year ago. That is up 22% from the third quarter 2001, however.
