DMi Partners, Inc., an interactive marketing and e-business management firm, has launched an e-mail marketing division.

Josh Aberant, the privacy and standards director of the new unit, will help DMi’s clients implement email campaigns. Prior to joining DMi, Aberant led Lyris’ privacy, deliverability, and consulting business unit. He was also an early employee at Intershop. Aberant was also the first business-side employee at CollabNet, where he helped redefine the art and science of online collaboration.

The new division is based in San Francisco.

“While their competitors lack the resources to respond in a harsh economy, smart companies understand the need to continually innovate their brand and business,” Patrick McKenna, CEO of DMi Partners, said in a statement.

McKenna continued, “Of course, in the current economic climate, advertisers must spend their marketing dollars creatively, consistently and efficiently. Therefore, we’re seeing marketing dollars move to products and services that deliver measurably defined results. Under Josh’s proven leadership, our new Email Marketing Division will offer businesses a safe and unique way to track sales leads, drive conversions and find an impressive return for their marketing investment — all in one streamlined suite of tightly integrated products.”
