The Direct Marketing Association will hold its Government Affairs Conference, April 21-22 in Washington, DC.
The conference will feature presentations by: DMA president H. Robert Wientzen; Postmaster General John E. Potter; Senator John Sununu (R-NH), a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee and J. Howard Beales, III, Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.
Topics covered will include the potential for comprehensive privacy legislation, the new CAN SPAM Act, which governs all commercial e-mail communications, the Internet access tax debate and Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement (SSTA), the National Do Not Call Registry, and also the possibility of systemic postal reform legislation passing this year.
