Disney Pushes Robinson Movie Via 44 Million Valpak Mailing, Sweeps

Walt Disney Pictures is promoting its latest animated film Meet the Robinsons with a 44-million piece mailing from Valpak and a sweepstakes offering the chance to win a trip to the Disneyland Resort.

Valpak envelopes will be branded with Meet the Robinsons, due out in theaters March 30. In addition, 889 free tickets to the film will be tucked inside some envelopes.

The direct mailer is also running a sweepstakes offering two winners a four-day trip to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations and airfare and admission to Disneyland Resort. The package includes a personal appointment with Meet the Robinson movie characters.

Consumers can enter the sweeps at ValPak.com, through April 6. TV spots on ABC, CNBC, the Food Network, Lifetime Turner and TNT will support the Meet the Robinsons campaign, which runs through March. Online materials also support the sweepstakes.

Meet the Robinsons tells the story of an orphan, Lewis, who dreams of finding a family. His journey leads him to a mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson who takes Lewis to a world where anything is possible.
