The Academy of Management has appointed MGI Lists to manage its membership records. Nearly 12,000 U.S. and 6,000 international members’ names are available. Academy members are primarily scholars at colleges, universities and research institutions. Business addresses are provided for 59 percent of the records and the rest are home addresses. MKTG Services was the prior list manager.

Hispanic American Market Index

A list portfolio called Hispanic American Market Index has been launched. These seven files are derived from public records, surveys and overlaid data. The Hispanic American Market Index Homeowners file is the largest with nearly 4.2 million records. Other files identify affluent households, families with children, Internet shoppers, PC users, retail shoppers and working mothers. All the files provide records from the last 12 months.

Seven new list segments have been created with data derived from the DefinitiveDatabase comprised of more than 12 million business publication subscribers. Each offer postal and telemarketing records. Three files Data Warehousing Business Intelligence, Corporate Training and Web Professionals each offer more than 1 million records. The other files Government Buyers of IT Products and Services, Users of Mobile Computing, Graphic Arts Design Professionals and Document Management have counts ranging from 577,993 to 945,979.

In excess of 1 million names are available on the Previously Seen on TV list. These individuals responded to multiple infomercial offers over the past year. They used a credit card to purchase health, diet, beauty, kitchen and novelty products. Most of these consumers are in the 25 to 50-age range, with a $35,000 to $75,000 income.

Common Cents

Telephone surveys were used to assemble a list of 25,000 consumers with $100,000 or higher incomes who presently don’t have a credit card. These individuals are on average 45, with at least a $10,000 bank balance. They make an average of four purchases by mail annually. Ninety-six percent of those listed are men. Telephone numbers are available.

Hand in Hand Blow-in

A blow-in program will be launched in January for the Hand in Hand educational products children’s catalog. Some 750,000 catalogs are mailed annually to parents and teachers. This audience is comprised 95% of women who spend an average of $100 per order. Inserts must be between 3 by 5 inches and 5-1/2 to 6 inches, weighing no more than .25 ounce.

Before the end of November Smart Marketing Solutions, the new compiled list division at MetaResponse Group, plans to unveil a portfolio of compiled business lists derived from the MetaBase database. Some of the files will identify executives by industry or function; small, mid-size and large business; professionals involved in human resources and management information systems and information technology executives. Smart Marketing Solutions recently launched a new group of consumer files derived from the Metabase database (Listline Oct. 25, 2004).
