Delta Creates New Loyalty Program Post

Delta Airlines has named Jeff Robertson to the newly created position of vice president, loyalty programs.

Robertson, 40, was previously managing director of SkyMiles. He is credited with co-leading integration efforts toward combining the Northwest WorldPerks and Delta SkyMiles programs. He oversees all domestic and international frequent flier alliances, the Delta SkyMiles/American Express co-branded credit card and all program partnerships, the airline said.

He joined Delta in 2002 as director of customer insight and analytics. Prior to that, Robertson held various management positions at McKinsey & Company, American Airlines and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Delta currently has 42 million SkyMiles members worldwide.

Delta SkyMiles program offers members multiple mileage-earning opportunities when flying Delta, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers, Delta AirElite and other SkyTeam airlines. Other mileage-building opportunities are offered through more than 100 partners such as the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express, the SkyMiles Store, SkyMilesShopping.com and various retailers.
