Teen and young women’s retailer Delia’s Corp., New York, is selling the assets of its Storybook unit to CelebrateExpress.com Inc.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The assets include the Storybook Heirlooms and Just for Kids catalog and Internet business, the companies said.
Closely held CelebrateExpress.com Inc., Kirkland, WA, is an online seller of children’s party supplies and planning assistance which operates the Celebrate Express and Birthday Express catalogs and Internet sites. The company, which filed for an initial public offering in January 2000, withdrew the registration in August.
Delia’s reported a net loss of $17.8 million for the quarter ended Feb. 3, compared to $1.8 million a year earlier.
