More than 4 million bottles of specially marked Clearly Canadian sparkling flavored water are making their way onto retail shelves in the U.S. as part of the Discover Clearly Canadian sweepstakes.
Clearly Canadian Beverage Corp., Vancouver, has teamed with the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) on the under-the-cap sweepstakes targeting U.S. consumers. The Discover Clear Canadian will award 11 Canadian vacation grand prizes or discounts at participating Sheraton and Westin Hotels and Resorts in Canada.
Each of the specially marked Clearly Canadian bottles features an instant-win prize. One winner will take the Super Grand prize, which offers an eight-day stay for two at a Westin or Sheraton in Canada, including airfare, car rental and a Kodak camera.
Another 10 grand prizes will be awarded, offering a five-day stay. The remaining caps offer 10% off weekend rates at participating Sheraton and Westin Hotels.
The CTC previewed the retail promotion last month with a Discover Clearly Canadian insert running in the April/May issues of publications such as Wine, Travel & Leisure, National Geographic Traveler and Travel Holiday. Radio and newspaper ads support in top U.S. markets.
The CTC also offers a Web site at www.travelcanada.ca/clearly where consumers can get discounts on trips by plugging in a promotion code found underneath Clearly Canadian caps.
The promotion is handled in house. Karacters Design Group handles P-O-P.
