Chockstone Spawns SingleSwipe Loyalty Play

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Loyalty marketer Chockstone Inc. is enabling ties between merchant loyalty programs and consumers’ existing credit and debit cards.

Chockstone’s SingleSwipeT identification program makes it possible for customers to use their credit or debit card at restaurant locations of their choice. They can register the card at points of sale in QSRs including Chili’s, Subway, Plaid Pantry and other participating eateries, or on the restaurant’s Web site.

“People will continue to carry their primary debit or credit card,” said Jeff Lipp, Chockstone CEO. “It’s sort of the ultimate tie-breaker, trying to make it easier for any credit or debit card.”

The new system eliminates the need for the service providers to produce special rewards cards, Lipp said. He noted that it also satisfies the “double-dipping” advantages that many cardholders receive from using their personal credit or debit cards for additional benefits.

SingleSwipeT is being promoted with in-store marketing, on QSR Web sites, through e-mails, and through QSR TV ads tagged with rewards program information.
