Chick-fil-A Names Twins Winners in Video Contest

Chick-fil-A has named 24-year-old twins the top winners in the Biggest Chick-fil-A Fan Video Contest.

Rachel and Melody Snelen from Palm Coast, FL, walked away with the grand prize: 40 months of free Chick-fil-A meals and a trip to Atlanta to tour the company’s headquarters. The Snelens’ video was chosen out of nearly 100 submissions as part of a contest to give the company’s biggest fans an outlet to express their passion for the brand.

The contest, which launched in January, was part of a 40th anniversary celebration (Promo Xtra, Jan. 3, 2008).

“We thought this promotion would be a great culmination to our 40th anniversary celebration,” said Steve Robinson, Chick-fil-A’s senior vice president of marketing, in a statement. “Our fans are extremely creative, and they went to great lengths to prove that they are our biggest fans.”

The Snelens’ video showed the pair’s lifetime of experiences with Chick-fil-A. Highlights include winning a cow-naming contest with the name “Nugget” and the twins’ effort to introduce people from more than 15 countries to the restaurant.

Nine other finalists received a year’s worth of free food. Submissions included everything from customers singing their order at a drive through to dressing family members as Chick-fil-A cows for a day. The Top10 videos are posted at http://www.Chick-fil-a.com.

The Foundry Agency created the campaign.
