CelebDirect Ousts CEO Bill Thompson For “Nonfeasance”

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The Board of Directors of CelebDirect has fired Bill Thompson for “a number of reasons including nonfeasance,” according to a statement from the company. The company did not offer any further details.

Thompson, a 30-year veteran of the direct marketing industry, had been named president and CEO of the firm in mid-November after CelebDirect acquired his company, TV Inc.

Before joining CelebDirect, he coordinated marketing programs for a wide spectrum of products, including the Bose Stereo system, and authored “Inside Infomercials.” Thompson also advised H. Ross Perot during Perot’s independent bid for the U.S. presidency.

The board has identified a “reputable and highly qualified individual” and will announce a new CEO shortly.

CelebDirect markets a variety of products through infomercials, advertorials, retail and other channels.
