CBS Interactive Scores Grammy Partnership

CBS Interactive has been tabbed official online partner of The Recording Academy, with plans to pump up the volume on this year’s 50th annual “Grammy Awards.”

CBS.com will carry a live, pre-show prelude to coverage of the music awards on CBS, featuring talent arrivals and interviews on the red carpet. A live stream of the Grammy pre-telecast ceremony will be on CBS.com and Grammy.com. A radio widget from Last.fm will offer a retrospective on past song of the year winners with an option to listen to those winning songs.

Behind-the-scenes Grammys rehearsal footage, classic video clips from past awards shows and an area where music fans can interact and discuss their favorite musical moments will also be part of the site preceding the Feb. 10 Grammys broadcast.

“There are only a few annual tent pole events that a media organization can count on to drive traffic, business, buzz and community activity. The Grammys is certainly one of those events,” said Joe Ferreira, senior vice president and general manager for CBS Audience Network.

The CBS Audience Network comprises online partners such as AOL, Microsoft, CNET Networks, Sling Media and several social network sites.
