Caminada Resigns From HIT Entertainment

Charlie Caminada, COO for HIT Entertainment, has resigned from the company after 15 years.

Caminada, who joined HIT as the company’s 10th employee, left to pursue new challenges in London following the HIT’s acquisition by Apax Partners in May. His last day was June 28.

Caminada joined HIT in 1992 as senior sales executive and became head of company sales in 1993. Two years later, Caminda joined the Board of HIT Entertainment as sales director. In 1999, he became managing director, worldwide distribution. Caminada became president, global sales and marketing in June 2001. He was appopinted to COO in June 2002.

“Charlie has played an important role in the company’s success and development over 15 years,” said Bruce Steinberg, chief executive for HIT Entertainment in a statement. “His enthusiasm and knowledge will be missed. We wish him well with his next venture.”

Caminada has been part of the management team that helped grow HIT from a start-up to a public company. He played a key role in building strong relationships with broadcast partners and licensees and helped establish the joint venture for the PBS Kids Sprout digital channel in the U.S.
