HOLLYWOOD Busytown’s cast of characters have hit the road to open a 20-city interactive tour that is set to land at malls throughout the East and Midwest.
This Viacom property has been a successful book series for 30 years and is now a half-hour animated TV show during Nickelodeon’s pre-school block, Nick Jr.
Like the books, the tour will include many activities, including a musical stage show, a Busytown photo stop shop, and an opportunity to build the largest miniature train ever. The tour will also include more than one million Parent Paks, sponsored by Snyder Communications. The packs will include samples, literature, and coupons and will be handed out at daycare centers and on the tour.
Brio, Busytown’s newest licensee, sponsors the information station part of the tour. Parents can find out the schedules of all the activities here while children from each city help assemble the world’s largest wooden train line.
The musical stage show will feature characters Hilda Hippo and Huckle Cat with interstitials that are culled from the TV series. Children can also read Busytown books, view videos, and color part of a wall mural.
The tour kicked off earlier this summer, but it will make stops in Chicago, Memphis, TN, Bangor, ME, and Milford, CT, in the months to come.
