Burger King Corp. is partnering with MasterCard for an in-store sweepstakes, which offers the chance to win vacation getaways and gift cards.
People are automatically entered in the sweepstakes every time they use their MasterCard credit card to make a purchase at Burger King restaurants through March 2.
Seven grand-prize winners will receive a $5,000 travel award to plan a vacation. Other prizes include $250 MasterCard gift cards and $50 BK Crown Cards.
Burger King is using the promotion to drive sales while giving its target—moms—something in return, company spokesperson Heather Krasnow said. It’s Burger King’s first national campaign with MasterCard.
P-O-P and print ads in InTouch, US Weekly, Star and People magazine support the promotion. Wunderman handles P-O-P, Campbell Mithun is in charge of the print ads and Edelman oversees PR for the sweepstakes. Agency VML works on online marketing for Burger King.
