Burger King, eBay Join in Loyalty Program

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Burger King Corp. and eBay have joined to create an Internet-based loyalty program, which will launch in 2002.

Burger King customers earn points by purchasing specific items, which can be redeemed for prizes on a co-branded Burger King/eBay Web site. While the specific awards have not been set, the companies anticipate giving away 1 million rewards, such as CDs and concert tickets, during 2002.

The two companies are in the process of developing online and offline marketing programs to support the new program, which will rely heavily on in-store promotion throughout the United States.
