Best Western Targets Business Travelers with Sweeps

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Best Western International has rolled out a new campaign, called “Taking Care of Business,” that lets business travelers who want to register on their Web site take a simple interactive tour of a Best Western hotel room, learn about the chain’s amenities, and take part in a sweepstakes and instant win game.

Visitors to www.bestwestern.com through Sept. 18 can click on a link that takes them to the registration page. If they choose to enter their data and create a login/password combination, they are then taken to a drawing of a typical Best Western accommodation.

Clicking around the room, they can view Adobe Flash pop-ups that offer information about the features targeted to business travelers: free high-speed Internet in rooms, free breakfast, 4,000 global locations and Best Western’s Gold Crown Club rewards program.

Finding and clicking on all four qualifies the visitor for the instant-win game, which will rotate four prizes for the duration of the game: a year’s worth of gasoline (valued at $3,100 in gas cards); a year’s worth of free one-night stays (one per month) at Best Western hotels; an “overhaul Your Vacation Wardrobe” award of $650 in gift cards to a clothing retailer and 50,000 airline miles through the Gold Crown Club International rewards program.

Visitors can enter the sweepstakes by clicking through a link at the end of the room tour. They can also earn a second sweepstakes entry by choosing to join the Gold Crown Club International, and can earn up to five more chances to win the instant game by offering the e-mail addresses of friends and inviting they to play the game.

The sweepstakes winner, selected by drawing on Sept. 22, will receive a one-week vacation getaway for four people at a Best Western resort, including hotel, meals, car rental and gas, with a total value of $10,900.

“This game is a fun way to show our appreciation and allow guests to learn more about what Best Western has to offer,” senior vice president of marketing and sales Dorothy Dowling said in a statement.

The “Taking Care of Business” game and sweepstakes are designed and managed by Brisbane CA-based SoftCoin Inc.
