AT&T Puts ‘American Idol’ Fans in Picture

AT&T is looking to draw wireless customers who are “American Idol” fans into the spirit of the show with a picture framing promo.

AT&T’s American Idol Framerz enables fans to create images of themselves or family members or friends with one of the final 12 contestants on the popular Fox reality show, or in other “Idol”-branded settings.

The promotion coincided with the first performances of the 12 “Idol” finalists last night.

Photos can be uploaded with an AT&T camera phone for 99 cents by sending an MMS with the selected shot to 5454. Alternatively, they can be uploaded online at http://att.com/americanidol. Customers can send the Framerz shots to themselves to use as wallpaper, or send it to any AT&T wireless number or Web address.

“American Idol Framerz is perfect for those fans who have pictured themselves on the Idol stage or next to their favorite Top 12 contestant,” said Mark Collins, vice president of consumer data for AT&T’s wireless unit, in a statement.

Standard messaging rates apply for photos forwarded to friends or family.
