Argos Buys 100 Call Center Licenses Before Home Shopping Launch

Firstwave Technologies, Inc. Argos, the London-based cataloger and chain store operator, will purchase 100 additional call center licenses from Firstwave Technologies for a national roll-out of its new Home Shopping System.

The call center seats, provided by Firstwave Technologies, further augments the loyal Argos customer base which buys through the successful nationwide network of retail outlets by making it easy for people with Argos catalogs to shop from their homes.

“This increase in users is only the start of our plans for this call center; we’re already looking at how the Internet and digital TV will be used alongside our current channels,” said Argos’ Home Shopping Development Manager Geraldine Terry in a statement.

Argos is the UK’s leading retailer of small electrical appliances and of toys, and number two in jewelry. Argos Direct — its nationwide home shopping service — offers the home delivery of Argos products.
