AOL to Link Dollar Bills to Online Game

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

AOL is planning to debut an online game next year that will let players compete for a chance to turn dollar bills into $1 million.

Serial numbers on dollar bills in active circulation will be tied to a series of challenges at AOL.com that reveals the numbers. Each day of the promotion will bring a new game including celebrity trivia. The top players will compete in 90-second video segments to air on both network TV and online.

Leeza Gibbons will host the game, set to launch in the first half of 2008.

“This is the first game show where every American already owns a ticket—probably lots of them,” said Mike Kelly, president of AAOL Media Networks, in a statement.
