AOL Acquires Ad Serving Network buy.at

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

AOL has acquired buy.at, an online advertising network service provider. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Buy.at’s business model is built on advertisers only paying when a target who has been presented with an ad takes a specific action, such as making a purchase or signing up for a free trial. Buy.at will operate as a unit of AOL’s Advertising.com. Buy.at was founded in 2002.

The transaction marks the fifth advertising-related corporate acquisition AOL has made within the last 12 months. Within the last year AOL acquired Quigo, a contextual advertising firm; TACODA, a behavioral targeting firm; Third Screen Media, a mobile advertising network and software provider; and AdTech AG, an international online ad-serving company based in Frankfurt, Germany.
