AmEx Offers Holiday Gimmick: Gadget Lover’s Card
It’s the season of giving, and American Express is calculating that holiday shoppers are as eager to get electronic gadgets as they are to give them.
So American Express is offering a free limited edition Gadget Lover’s gift card worth $25 for each person who buys five company gift cards in a single order through Dec. 31.
The Gadget Lovers Cards from American Express Incentive Services can be redeemed for three months from the date of issue at participating U.S. electronics retailers, including f.y.e., Sam Goody, The Sharper Image and Suncoast.
“What makes this promotion so unique is it’s something for you, something for me,” said company spokesman Robert Sherman.
Consumer electronics are a particularly hot with shoppers, according to American Express’ own research, with 37% of people saying electronics items are at the top of their holiday wish lists.
The gift cards are available in denominations of $25 to $500, and are redeemable at any retail outlet or restaurant that accepts American Express credit cards.
The gift cards can be bought online at http://www.americanexpress.com/gift. Purchasers must complete a rebate form on the site and mail it in by Jan. 21 to receive the Gadget Lover’s Card. There is a limit of one card per household.
