This holiday season, Amazon.com is proving to be a more reliable online source for shoppers looking for hot toys, according to a survey from Bloomberg Industries.
Target, Wal-Mart, Toys ‘R’ Us and Kmart all performed worse than their ecommerce rival. Target did the worst, with only 40% of the 100 toys looked at in-stock, such as the Hasbro Iron Man 3 Sonic Blasting Figure. In comparison, Amazon had 95% in-stock.
With U.S. consumers weighed down by a patchy economic recovery and stagnant wages, researcher ShopperTrak predicts that holiday sales will rise 2.4 percent, the weakest since 2009.
