Albertson’s Expands Catalina Marketing Network Participation

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Albertson’s, a Boise, ID-based grocery chain, will increase its participation in the Catalina Marketing Network throughout all the grocery stores it operates. Currently, all Albertson’s, Jewel and Acme stores located in California, Nevada, Illinois and Pennsylvania participate in the program. The expansion brings Catalina’s program to an additional 870 outlets.

The Catalina Marketing Network captures point of purchase transaction behavior, which is used in couponing, sampling, advertising and loyalty marketing programs.

“This technology allows Albertson’s to target our customers on an individual and market-basket level with special retail programs,” said Pam Powell, group vice president of marketing for Albertson’s, in a statement.

Powell continued “Additionally, the Catalina Marketing Network allows us to build volume and customer loyalty through both in-store and Internet-based consumer offers.”
