Paul M. Williams, a sales leader at Acxiom Corp., was killed in a car crash Sunday afternoon. Williams was 56.

According to published reports, Williams collided with another car on a rain-dampened stretch of U.S. 65. A Greenbrier, AR woman, Marsha G. Smith, who was in the other car, was killed as well.

In a message to Acxiom employees, Morgan described Williams as “an exceptional man–one of the kindest, most gracious, most caring people I have ever known.”

As sales leader, Williams reported directly to company leader Charles Morgan. Prior to being named sales leader, Williams had led Acxiom’s Services Division, which focuses on managing client relations across a variety of industries. Williams had been with Acxiom since 1989.

Before joining the Little Rock, AR-based firm, he had held a variety of jobs within the data industry, including positions with Computer Associates International, IBM Corp. and several financial services companies.

Williams earned a B.B.A. degree in management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He also graduated from the SMU Intermediate Banking School and the Stonier Graduate School of Bank Management.

Williams is survived by his wife, Nancy, and his daughters, Traci and Melissa.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 A.M at the First United Methodist Church in Conway. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the church.
