Acquisitions Power Revenue Growth as Income Slips at InfoUSA

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

InfoUSA’s net sales jumped from $78.8 million in second quarter 2003 to $83.8 million in second 2004, but the Omaha, NE-based data provider’s net income fell from $4.7 million to $3.7 million. The quarter ended June 30. Much of the growth was driven by the company’s Donnelley Group, which until recently was known as the Large Business Group. This group saw its revenue jump 17% from second quarter 2003, to $45.5 million. The group’s growth was spurred by the company’s Triplex, OneSource and Edith Roman acquisitions. In contrast, the InfoUSA Group, formerly the Small Business Group, recorded revenue of $38.3 million, down 5% from second quarter 2003. Other factors on InfoUSA’s revenue were severance and acquisition charges, as well as deferred advertising costs.
