Quaker Oats’ Life Cereal, which is known for featuring children on its colorful box fronts, has announced a nationwide contest to find a new trio that will be featured on millions of cereal packages.

The Are You A Real Life Kid? contest is offering three grand prize winners $10,000 each and their photos on millions of Life Cereal boxes. In addition, five first prizes of $5,000, 25 second prizes of $1,000, and 250 third prizes of $100 will be awarded.

“Life Cereal is looking for special, real-life kids who truly enjoy life, whether they’re riding a bike, reading their favorite book, playing with their pets, or eating cereal,” says Life marketing manager Shalini Gupta. “The contest is our way of celebrating and rewarding kids who live life to the fullest.”

To enter their children, parents must submit a color photo that captures their child’s spirit for life, a 50 words-or-less essay starting with the phrase “My kid is a real life kid because…,” and two proofs-of-purchase.

Contest details appear on specially marked boxes of Life and on the company’s Web site at www.quakerkids.com.
