Search engine Ask.com will reduce its headcount by 40 workers, or about 8% of its workforce, according to Reuters.
Ask is also reevaluating its offerings and marketing proposition, CEO Jim Safka told Reuters.
Safka also told Reuters that nearly two-thirds of the search engine’s users were women, with a high percentage of those in their mid-30s and located in the Midwest and Southeast. Across the broader search market, women make up just under half of searchers, according to Reuters.
Safka plans to put the company’s search results through a filter that addresses the needs of this audience, he told Reuters.
