The Yankee Candle Co. Inc. reported net income of $33.6 million for the fourth quarter, a 21% increase over $27.7 million the same period one year ago.
The cataloger and retailer reported total sales of $157.3 million, an 11% increase over the year ago quarter.
Mail order sales decreased 3% during the quarter.
For the year, Yankee Candle reported net income of $48.2 million, an increase over $43.6 million for the year before. Both the year and the quarter ended Dec. 29.
Total sales for fiscal 2001 were $379.8 million, a 12% increase over fiscal 2000.
Mail order sales increased 2% for the year.
