Cataloger Urban Outfitters Inc., based in Philadelphia, reported net income of $6.1 million for the quarter ended Oct. 31, a 21% increase over $5 million for the comparable quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter were $75.4 million, a 25% gain over $60.5 million for the same period in 1998.
Earnings for the nine months ended Oct. 31 increased to $13.1 million over $10.6 million last year. Net sales for the nine months increased 36% to $201.4 million versus $147.9 million last year. Comparable store sales for the nine-month period increased by 14%.
