True North Communications Inc., the Chicago-based advertising agency conglomerate, reported net income increased 43% to $10 million for the quarter ended March 31 from $7 million in last year’s first quarter.
First quarter revenue from commission and fee income rose 8% to $356.1 million from $331.1 million in last year’s first quarter. “Organic growth” was 7.6% in the first quarter, excluding Chrysler, and was bolstered by continued strength in True North’s international operations, the company said.
