Restoration Hardware Posts Loss, Loses COO Home furnishings retailer Restoration Hardware blamed a one-time charge for deferred taxes for a fourth-quarter 2005 loss of $19.5 million, compared to a $10.6 million profit a year ago. Overall sales were helped by rising catalog and Internet sales, which increased by 20.1% to $48.2 million for the quarter, but retail sales slipped by 3.3% to $142.8 million. The retailer also announced that chief operating officer John Tate has resigned for personal reasons, but will consult for the company until a replacement is named.
