Sharper Image Corp., the San Francisco-based cataloger and retailer. reported a net loss of $2.8 million for the quarter ended April 30, a decline from ndt income of $105,000 for the same period last year.
According to news reports, Sharper Image increased advertizing spending by 75% to $12.9 million. This included catalog mailings and .television advertising for its Ionic Breeze air purifier and as the company attempted to sell more of its own products.
Total revenue increased 15% to $69.8 million from last year’s $60.9 million.
