St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch's final Olympic event in Salt Lake City concluded amid a little drama, as riot police were called in to subdue a rowdy crowd outside the beer giant's Bud World Party at Gallivan Center.
A-B security got a tip from local police around 9:30 p.m. that a wave of people were about to hit downtown as an ‘N Sync concert ended at the nearby Olympics Medals Plaza. The Main Street scene right outside the Party quickly became flooded by consumers, some of whom got frustrated with the packed streets, prompting some 100 police officers outfitted in riot gear to respond to the scene.
Before the incident was over, police had arrested 30 people and used rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.
