Responsys Buys E-mail Consultant Inbox

E-mail marketing services provider Responsys has purchased Inbox Marketing, a firm specializing in strategic e-mail marketing. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Inbox has served as a strategic consultant to advertisers looking to optimize their campaigns for “lifecycle marketing”, a tactic to reach consumers at the appropriate moment when they are most likely to respond to a marketing message.

“Building on our shared vision of individualized lifecycle marketing, the Inbox acquisition brings to Responsys greater focus on ensuring customer return on investment and an expanded set of capabilities,” said Dan Springer, CEO of Responsys.

The company expects to retain Inbox’s 14-member staff.
