Redcats USA, a subsidiary of Paris-based PPR, announced on Friday that it plans to acquire the catalog and Internet retail operations of The Sportsman’s Guide.
The acquisition will be an all-stock transaction valued at about $265 million.
Gregory Binkley will remain in his current post as CEO of The Sportsman’s Guide following the merger.
“The Sportsman’s Guide is a great company, with an outstanding product range,” said Eric Faintreny, CEO of Redcats USA, in a statement. “We look forward to working with Greg Binkley, his management team and employees to take The Sportsman’s Guide and its Golf Warehouse subsidiary to a further step of development.”
The Sportsman’s Guide is a multi-channel direct marketer of value-priced outdoor gear and general merchandise, with a special emphasis on outdoor clothing, sporting goods and golf apparel, equipment and footwear. Web sites include SportsmansGuide.com, BargainOutfitters.com and BaseballSavings.com.
Redcats USA is a catalog and online marketer of apparel and home products, with primary brands Chadwick’s, Roaman’s, Jessica London, KingSize and BrylaneHome. Parent Redcats Group operates in 26 countries and is a member of the PPR group of companies.
