Ralph Drybrough has launched a full service, list management, brokerage and e-commerce firm specializing in business-to-business.
The firm, named Merit Direct, is temporarily based in New Cannan, CT, until it moves into its permanent home in downtown Stamford, CT, in mid-February, said Drybrough, CEO of the new firm.
Drybrough has named Betty Vizzo as executive assistant and David Palmer as vice president of administration and finance. Both Vizzo and Palmer had formerly worked for Direct Media Inc. in Greenwich, CT.
No details were available on financing for the start up.
The firm is now serving three clients and took its first order Wednesday. "We are up and doing business and taking orders," Drybrough said.
Drybrough left the employ of Direct Media Inc., Greenwich, CT, last month as the firm's senior vice president of business list services.
Drybrough said he has spoken with Steve Brighton at Acxiom Corp., Little Rock, AR, and plans to use Acxiom's merge-purge and private prospecting-database services as well as other service bureaus. The management at Direct Media are in the final stages of buying the company back from Acxiom, which purchased Direct Media in 1996
