Multi-title catalog company Potpourri Holdings Inc. plans to consolidate its Medfield, MA, facility with two others located in that state.
About eight employees were notified earlier this month that their jobs would be eliminated as the consolidation moves forward over the next year. Most of the terminations come from redundancies as the firm converts from two information services platforms to run its business, to one enterprise-wide system, Jack Rosenfeld, the firm’s president and CEO said.
The Medfield facility houses administrative offices, a call center and a warehouse. The operations will be relocated to existing sites in Chelmsford, where offices and a call center are located and to Whitinsville, where a warehouse and call center operate.
Employees from Medfield will be migrated to the Chelmsford and Whitinsville sites, all within an hour of each other, Rosenfeld said.
Potpourri Holdings markets personal gifts, home decor, casual apparel, jewelry and crafts through its portfolio of 10 catalogs, including its flagship Potpourri, Back in the Saddle, In the Company of Dogs, The Stichery and The Pyramid Collection. It distributes more than 90 million catalogs annually.
During its peak season, the company, which has annual revenues of more than $140 million, employs about 300, Rosenfeld said.
Last October Potpourri Holdings, a portfolio investment of HIG Capital, was acquired by Linsalata Capital partners, a private equity firm in Mayfield Heights, OH.
