U.S. Sailing and Mount Gay Rum have launched a series of educational seminars for recreational sailors.
The Mount Gay Rum Speaker Series will deliver the seminars to sailors nationwide and will be hosted by select sailing organizations and yacht clubs. The series will feature as many as 10 sessions with subjects that range from Understanding the New Racing Rules to An Inside Look at the Olympic Games.
The seminars will allow sailors to interact directly with prominent experts in discussing the new 2005-2008 racing rules, which go into effect Jan. 1.
The Olympic-themed events will feature Athens medalists like Kevin Burnham, U.S. Sailing's gold medalist, who will share a first-hand perspective on his Olympic experiences, from training to the podium.
The 2005 season of the Mount Gay Rum Speaker Series will run through April, and is managed by Penfield Marketing Group, Westport, CT.
Mount Gay Rum is the official rum of U.S. Sailing.
