Microsoft Corp. has reportedly acquired Danish B-to-B software firm Navision for $1.3 billion in cash and stock.
The acquisition would be Redmond-based Microsoft’s second largest after its $1.5 billion purchase of U.S. graphic software maker Visio in 2000, according to Associated Press reports.
Navision’s products include applications for customer relationship and knowledge management, and enterprise resource planning. The company has about 1,300 employees in 30 countries.
Navision will become part of Microsoft’s business solutions division, with corporate headquarters in Vedbaek, just north of Copenhagen, according to published reports. Those offices will serve as Microsoft’s center of development and operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
