MeritDirect, the Stamford, CT-based list and interactive services firm, fresh from its first operating profit, is about to expand its franchise.
The firm will create a consumer list division, devoted primarily to publishing and high-end consumer catalogs, according to CEO Ralph Drybrough.
MeritDirect realized a six-figure operating profit for the month of April, three months after opening for business. "We are ahead of our original projections to be operating profitably, year-to-date, by July 2000," said chairman Mark Joyce in a statement.
The firm is staffed mostly by former employees of the business-to-business list group of Direct Media.
