Owings Mill, MD-based Medifast Inc. plans to launch a new direct mail program to generate sales from a list of more than 100,000 prospective customers it has built over the last six months with television advertising.
Medifast is a manufacturer and distributor of weight loss and disease management products. It generates leads using television, print and direct mail to promote its retail weight loss centers.
The company reported its unaudited revenue for the three-month period ending June 30 increased 12% to $7.2 million, compared to $6.4 million in revenue for the same period in 2003. Most of Medifast’s business is generated by two wholly-owned subsidiaries Jason Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Take Shape for Life Inc.
In other recent developments, Medifast has promoted Robert Hallock to vice president and Jaime Elwood to vice president of customer service and distribution.
