Mass. Passes DNC Law

Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift signed a bill creating a state do-not-call registry over the weekend, making the Bay State the 32nd state to establish such a list. Massachusetts law restricts calls between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., and allows consumers to register for free. Companies that violate the DNC can be fined up to $5,000 per violation and telemarketers cannot block Caller ID.
