Landec Corp., agricultural chemicals developer, has acquired Heartland Hybrids Inc., a direct marketer of seed corn, for $6 million.
"The acquisition of Heartland Hybrids will further solidify Landec 's leading market position in the direct-to-the-farm sales channel for agricultural seeds," said Tom Crowley, CEO of the Menlo Park, CA firm in a statement.
