Google Inc. generated revenue of $1.03 billion during fourth quarter 2004, more than double the $512.2 million it reported in fourth quarter 2003. The Mountain View, CA-based firm’s net income skyrocketed from $27.3 million to $204.1 million.
For all of 2004, Google’s revenue was $3.19 billion, more than double the $1.47 billion it generated during 2003. The company’s net income rose from $105.6 million to $399.1 million. The quarter and the year ended Dec. 31.
During the fourth quarter, revenue from Google-owned sites amounted to $530 million, or 51% of its total revenue, up 118% from fourth quarter 2003’s level. Revenue from its partner sites through AdSense Programs (“The Google Network”), amounted to $490 million, an increase of 92% from last year’s levels.
During 2004, the company’s sites pulled in $1.6 billion, up from $792 million in 2003, while revenue from The Google Network rose by 147%, from $629 million during 2003 to $1.6 billion. Growth within The Google Network reflects both an increased number of partners as well as the company’s ability to generate more revenue from existing partners.
