General Motors has unveiled “Ticket to Ride,” what it claims to be the most comprehensive promotion ever launched by an automaker on the Internet.
Working through its new Web site, (http://www.gmtickettoride.com) the auto giant is offering cash rebates of up to $750 available only on the Internet on selected Chevrolet, GMC , Oldsmobile, Buick and Pontiac mid-size cars and sport utility vehicles.
Consumers who visit the site before July 15 can request a certificate good for up to $750 on select models, which can be used with other incentives. The company is also using this promotion to drive user-traffic to its GMBuyPower.com site, which has more than 6,300 participating dealers and 300,000 vehicles available.
GM plans to promote the site in newspaper and magazine advertisements beginning this week, and mention it in its television ads.
