Crate and Barrel Sub CB2 Launches First Catalog

CB2, the value subsidiary of home furnishings vendor Crate and Barrel, mailed the first catalog in its five-year existence on Friday.

The Northbrook, IL-based company said that a catalog was the top request of its online customers and at its two Chicago-area retail outlets. It has mailed more than 1.2 million catalogs in this initial effort, including 66,500 to customers who requested the book either online or in the stores.

The 67-page catalog is a complete paper rendition of the CB2.com Web site and offers home décor products targeting young buyers on a budget.

Founded in 1962, Crate and Barrel operates 145 retail stores in 25 U.S. markets.
