Direct marketing sales rose by 16.1% to $11.8 million during the 13-week period that ended on May 1.
In addition, the Nashua, NH-based firm reduced its net loss by 27.6% to $4.6 million. The company usually carries a loss through its first three quarters due to the seasonality of its business and enters the black in the fourth quarter.
CEO Michael Anthony said in a statement that Brookstone expects to “turn in another successful Father’s Day and to narrow our second-quarter loss by approximately 50%.”
